The air may not be crisp and cool when September and October can be our hottest months and certainly, the leaves have not turned picture perfect Autumn orange. But Fall in San Diego has a sunny charm of its own. We made a spontaneous trip to Julian, CA to enjoy a warm day in the sun. To celebrate fall harvest, we cooked some of our own apple sauce, deep dish apple pie, and drum roll please ..... hard cider is fermenting in the carboy!

The benefits of a burr grinder over other blade type grinder are quite noticeable after the first grind. Last week after we parted ways with the three year old blade model, couple of us at the office pitched in for a burr grinder. We noticed immediately that it produces consistent and precise grinds, leading to more flavorful cup of coffee. Frankly I am never going back to a blade!

In conclusion, to make the perfect cup of coffee, besides the type of coffee beans, the very first equipment one should pay attention to would be a coffee grinder!
